The impressive capacity of the new ŠKODA RAPID SPACEBACK is clear from both the cabin layout and the extensive standard equipment list.
Subtle coupé-style additions to the hatchback shape give the SPACEBACK an individual, flowing profile. The rear windows and tailgate glass are longer, drawing out that sleek shape. To ensure uninterrupted lines, both 'C'-shaped rear lights wrap tightly around each side. You can adjust the halogen headlights for maximum visibility – with forward vision enhanced by daytime running lights.
The cabin feels open and airy, thanks to the panoramic glass roof. Storage spaces in the original RAPID were already generous, and the SPACEBACK takes this further. Drop the rear seats to make 1,380 litres of room in the boot. In contrast, instrument dials and controls are all positioned tightly around the driver's position. The gauges and displays have been designed to match the smooth curve of the steering wheel.
As with many other ŠKODA cars, when specifying the RAPID SPACEBACK you can decide between diesel and petrol power. The 1.2-litre, 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre engines available across the range ensure at least 91bhp and 160Nm of torque.
The RAPID achieved a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating, and the SPACEBACK'S equipment list includes many security and protection features. Front and side airbags cushion you against impacts, ISOFIX points keep child seats firmly in place, and the ESC includes ABS.
In-car systems are there to entertain as well as keep you safe. The SWING radio is presented on both a 6.5-inch colour display and through four loudspeakers. The SE Tech trim level adds Bluetooth connectivity to the cabin, along with ŠKODA's Maxi-DOT trip computer.

These vehicles are tested according to WLTP technical procedures. Figures shown are for comparability purposes. Please refer to and use the fuel consumption figures marked WLTP and the CO2 emissions figures marked NEDC equivalent for comparisons as from 1 January 2019. These are the official figures for the UK from 1 January 2019 and until further notice. Avoid making comparisons using the fuel consumption figures marked NEDC equivalent after 31 December 2018 or the CO2 emissions figures marked WLTP before 6 June 2020 – these figures are not official after/until that date and are provided for information only. Only compare fuel consumption and CO2 figures with other vehicles tested to the same technical procedures. Due to more realistic test conditions, the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions measured under the WLTP are in many cases higher compared to NEDC equivalent data. Figures may not reflect real life driving results, which will depend upon a number of factors including the accessories fitted (post-registration), variations in weather, driving styles and vehicle load. There is a new test used for fuel consumption and CO2 figures (known as WLTP). The NEDC CO2 figures shown however, are based on a calculation designed to be equivalent to the outgoing test cycle and will be used to calculate vehicle tax on first registration. Choice of wheels and other options may affect fuel consumption and emissions data. For more information, please see WLTP Info or contact your local ŠKODA Retailer.
