Managing Director - COVID19 Statement

Prior to Winchester Motor Company opening after the first national lockdown on the 1st June 2020 the management team undertook a thorough risk assessment of our business in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. I am very pleased to say that since reopening on that date our safety measures have been a success with no reported incidents of Covid-19 being reported within the business.

With the governments decision to remove all social distancing and other Covid-19 measures I would like to reassure you that we at Winchester Motor Group will maintain our high level of cleanliness and other measures to keep you, our customers and our staff safe from any potential infection.

To this end we will continue to do the following:

We will continue to use Perspex protection sneeze screens on all Sales, Parts and Service Advisor desks to ensure the maximum possible protection for you and ourselves.

All our customer-facing colleagues will continue to wear masks and we would ask you, our customers to do the same.

All our staff will continue to ensure regular and effective hand washing throughout the day for all colleagues.

You will continue to find hand sanitiser pump stations throughout the dealership for your use and you will be encouraged to sanitise your hands when entering the business.

We will continue to operate a one-way system in our showrooms and encourage social distancing by removing cars and expanding customer waiting areas.

We will still be unable to offer a coffee making facility and other refreshments to help reduce the spread of infection.

All offices and customer touch points will be sanitised regularly with our sanitising equipment.

All customers cars booked in for servicing, warranty, routine maintenance, MOT’s or accident repair will have protection film wrap applied to the steering wheel, handbrake and gear selector by our technicians. Disposable paper mats will be put into the drivers footwell and plastic seat covers placed over any seat that might be used. All technicians will wear nitrate gloves and masks whist working on vehicles. Prior to collection the vehicle will be fully sanitised by using our Dasic RTU Aerokleen machines as used by some airlines to sanitise aircraft. Keys and touch points will also be wiped clean with anti-bacterial wipes. All items listed are one use only items and will not be swapped between cars thus negating the risk of spreading infection.

Whilst it is impossible to guarantee a totally safe environment, it is beholden upon us to continue with all the Covid-19 safety measures that have successfully worked for us this far. We have consulted extensively and I am confident that continuing with this cautious approach will demonstrate our intentions of keeping our customers and our business safe during these uncertain times.

Stay safe.
